Big day. We received an inbound call from the head buyer at Metropolitan Markets, a six unit very high end grocery chain here in the Northwest, saying
that a customer of his had purchased Phix in Portland, loved it and wanted MM to carry it. Paul, the manger, did some research and got really excited about what we were doing and called asking to immediately get Phix into all of their stores. That happened over the weekend and Sam and I spent today visiting our local Metropolitan Markets, meeting
the teams there and getting Phix set up on the shelves. There is nothing like seeing your product on a store shelf... If you’re reading this and live near a Metropolitan Market and are curious about Phix, cruise on in and pick some up – nothing like instant, or almost instant, gratification. So for the last two days we’ve been in celebration mode. We had a party on Wednesday, April 9th in Seattle to announce the launch and then on the 10th we did it all over again in Portland. My friend from San Francisco, the very talented artist, Nya Jade, came up with two band members to play both parties. She's super talented and she added a really great vibe to the events. myspace. She just released her new album, The Road to Adam, and it rocks – my favorite song so far is Cherry Chocolate Wine. We had about 250 people at each of the parties. They included everyone from friends and family to early focus group members to former colleagues. It was nice to be able to take a few days to relax and just take in the fact that we had actually launched. Very fun.

So this was a very big weekend for us as we are now finally on store shelves. Four of us spent Friday doing store training and then Saturday and Sunday doing in store demos. It was awesome to finally get to share the product with consumers and to see people buy the product. Demoing reminded me of my restaurant days 'cuz you forget how unbelievably exhausting it is to be on your feet standing for 8 hours. Luckily we were able to dip into our Phix sample supplies to keep our energy level up.
We'll be back down on April 19th and 20th, so if you happen to find yourself near Orenco Station or Seven Corners in Portland, come on by and say hi!
