It's All About Attitude

We’ve been talking a lot about how to keep fit, how to eat healthily, and how to live naturally. There is no denying that health is the premise of everything. However, a healthy life is not just about a healthy body, but also about a healthy mind, or in other words, a healthy attitude.  Only an active attitude can allow us to be the masters of our lives. As the saying goes, "Either you control your life or your life controls you,, and it’s your attitude that can decide who is the horse and who is the jockey." Attitude factors into everything you do, whether or not you even realize it. If you are a positive person, not even the sky falling down could dampen your day. However, if you feel like the massive rain cloud in the sky is only following you around, let your friends at Phix offer you a few tips!

Be Confident

Self-confidence is the prerequisite to success and the secret to happiness. Confidence empowers you to overcome and conquer anything that is blocking your path to a better life. You may lack confidence because you don’t think you are good at anything, but that is not true! Everybody has their own strengths and weaknesses, so don’t just focus on your shortcomings. Yeah, you might not be the best at studying, but what about sports, music, dancing or some other aspects even you are not aware of? If you don’t have some specific skill you are especially proud of, think about your personality; are you an easygoing and honest person who has many friends and whom people tend to trust? That’s also a wealth. Try to dig out your strongpoints. Jot it down whenever you feel like you have achieved something, no matter how small the accomplishment is. It can be the time when you cooked something delicious, when you improved your workout, or when you felt like just helping someone out……Write it down and hang it on your wall, remember that at these moments you are the winner instead of the loser!

Be Realistic

Changes often come faster than planned. Life is changing, uncertain and unpredictable.  Between joys and sorrows, illness and death, natural disasters, birth, and every other momentous event, emotions are inevitable, and the most constant thing is change itself. So one way to protect yourself from getting hurt by the unpredictability of life is to be adaptable. Never be way too idealistic and take life for granted assuming that itwill go as expected. Idealism is an overly-extreme form of optimism that deprives you of fair expectations and sets the bar too high from the get-go setting yourself up for disappointment. Learn to be more like a chameleon that can change its color to adapt to the environment.  When you are struck by luck, don’t let the extreme blissfulness blind you. At the same time if you have hit some setbacks, don’t allow frustration to hinder you from exploring new paths.  They say that everything is good in moderation, and the same goes for attitude. Try to avoid both extremes—idealism and extreme pessimism, and stay in between the two ends of the spectrum. Sometimes it is best to expect the best but prepare for the worst; that keeps you ready for any challenge that may come in your way!

Be Open-Minded

Narrow-minded people can only see their own reflection in the mirror, because in their limited horizons, all they can tolerate is themselves. That’s why some people always seem to be down, and have a scowl on their faces. Well, of course it is true that everybody has the right to believe in whatever makes sense to them, but a real happy person is never some one that is only confined to his own world. You need to open your heart, to go out, talk, and listen to other people. Maybe you will came across many opponents of your beliefs, and I am sure you will, but the most important part is to learn and understand the views of others.. So don’t get angry because you meet an antagonist, smile because you have opened your eyes.

Your attitude isn’t something that is going to flip 180 overnight, but if you work on it a little bit each day, you will see that the world isn’t such a bad place, afterall. So you tell me, is the glass half empty or half full?

Stay Positive,

Yoga, Your Source for Inner Peace

Most people are familiar with yoga, but have no clue about its history and origin.. The meditative ritual which was practiced by the Indians 5,000 years ago has now become one of the most popular exercises in gyms and fitness clubs all over the world. You can see tons of Yoga aficionados getting together every other day, either sitting on the meditative cushions, or stretching out to pose the perfect asana (postures in Sanskrit) for the pursuit of a flexible body and peaceful mind.

Yoga, originating from the Sanskrit word ‘yuj’ means "joining or integrating of all aspects of the individual—body with mind and mind with soul—to achieve a happy, balanced and useful life."  There is no denying that a balanced life sounds like a luxury for us, especially now, living in an era of economic recession and an astronomical level of unemployment. The only way to survive is to keep up with the fast-going pace and multitask! For this reason, Yoga might be the most suitable choice for individuals trying to balance both the physical and mental aspects of their lives.

To balance your life, you need to balance the body first. One of the greatest health benefits Yoga offers is its ability to help the development of physical flexibility and strength which can put the body into a balanced state. Yoga asana allows you to stretch not only your muscles but all the tissues surrounding the muscle, including ligaments, tendons, and the fascia sheath. This releases the lactic acid that builds up with muscle use and causes stiffness, tension, pain, and fatigue, making Yoga  the safest way to give your body a full stretch. Some types of yoga such as Iyengar or hatha focuses less on movement and more on precise alignment in poses, which can provide strength and endurance. With increased flexibility and strength comes better posture, which is the balance of the body.

Besides balance, Yoga also brings calmness, concentration and tranquility. Yoga requires you to focus on a specific part of the body, which is why you will often hear an instructor asking you to find your “focal point” during a yoga class. Almost every student would say they feel happier, more content and focused after the class.  Even beginners tend to feel less stressed and more relaxed after their first class. Some yoga styles use specific meditation techniques to quiet the constant "mind chatter" that often underlies stress. So after a day’s rushing in and out, find a quiet place, a meditation mat, put on some Zen-like music and light up a relaxing aroma candle. Target your “focal point” and then stretch your whole body out. Let Yoga wash the stress and anxiety away!

Out with the old, in with the new!

How many of you out there used to be able to eat and drink anything you wanted and were still able to stay fit? If you were anything like some of my old college buddies, your college meals consisted of fast food, unhealthy sodium-packed microwave dinners, and (don’t tell the kids) beer. Yet, with a minimum amount of working out, and that crazy metabolism we’d all kill for now, we managed to maintain our weight. Our parents warned us that they, too, had the same ‘diet’ in college, (and I use that word VERY loosely) and told us that old habits die hard. Many may have laughed in their parents’ faces; well laughed as much as they could with a mouth full of McDonalds. I bet we all wish we had taken heed to their warnings. However, hind sight is 20/20, and looking back, it’s true when they say, “Your parents know best”.  About 5 years after college I began gaining weight, and lots of it even though I hadn’t changed my eating or exercise habits, which turned out to be the problem. That’s when I realized that something had to give; it was time to change my old ways.

At Phix, we always keep an open mind and like to explore the lifestyles of people on all ends of the spectrum, from the raw vegans, to those sharing a lifestyle similar to one seen on “Supersize Me”. Last week, we took our talents to South Beach—well, Coral Gables, to check in with some current college students at the University of Miami. What we noticed was extremely encouraging, and proved that perhaps our parents’ pleas may not have fallen upon deaf ears after all! Within moments of stepping foot on campus, we realized that perhaps times have been changing. Everywhere we looked, both students and faculty were running, playing sports, eating salads, sushi, and other good foods, and looking overall very healthy. Let’s not kid ourselves though, we’ve all been that age, and we know the other end of the spectrum does exist. However, we wanted to see if this healthy utopia was real, or just a façade. We talked with a few students who were able to fill us in a little more on some of the questions (and doubts) we had.

We spoke with John, a 22 year old senior. He graciously agreed to answer a few questions, and because of his generosity we even threw a box of Phix his way! John told us that he doesn’t ‘count calories’ or limit his portion sizes, but is careful when choosing which types of foods to eat. He almost always eats what would be considered healthy by most; tuna, turkey, sushi, salads, lots of fruits, lean steak, and he even said when he makes pasta he uses whole grain pasta—you make us proud Johnny boy! He does not have a set workout schedule but says he goes to the gym regularly when he has time between classes, studying, and balancing a social life; probably kicking it at the on-campus pool!  We asked him why he chooses to be so healthy when given so much freedom to make whatever choices he wants. Mom’s not here to force that broccoli down your throat, or scream “no dessert until after dinner!” so what motivates him to be healthy and active? What John told us was wise, way beyond his years, and an attitude I wish I had at his age! He said, “College may be the best 4 years of your life, but they are not the only 4 years.” Meaning if you don’t take care of your body and health at all times, it will catch up with you at some point. He said that he also needs to stay in peak physical shape because intramural sports are highly competitive on campus. Also, he believes (as do we) if you stay in good physical shape, it helps your mental psyche as well, and in his case, it helps him stay focused on his studies. As we were finishing up our quick interview, he smirked at us and devilishly added, “staying in shape doesn’t hurt with the ladies either.” And just when we began to think he was too mature to really be in college…Only kidding John!

After spending a few more hours on campus, and speaking with a few more students, we came to the consensus that obviously some things in college remain the same, but there is a very evident positive shift in the health and fitness department. With the advancement of technology, as well as the expanded access to research and information, the younger (generally more technologically savvy) generation, is able to reach a seemingly unlimited amount of information. Perhaps this is one of the many reasons the younger generation seems to be more health-oriented, but I say years of ‘preaching to the choir’ by concerned parents all over the world has paid off! Keep up the good work!

Seize the Day

Name: Gary Anderson
Age: 47
Occupation: Personal Trainer and Fitness Coach
Status: Married with 2 kids; 1 boy, 1 girl
Credentials: CPT, NCCA-accredited certification, masters in exercise physiology, 21 years of experience

In the wise words of the Governator, “To be successful, you must dedicate yourself 100% to your training, diet and mental approach.” Mr. Schwarzenegger did not get to where he is today, physically as well as professionally, by just sitting around and waiting for things to happen to him. If you want something, you have to go out there and grab it by the horns. You have to seize the day. That’s how I live my life, and I try to get others live their lives that way too when they’re training with me.  First off, just to clear things up, you probably think I’m a muscle-head bodybuilder, who can’t fit through a door without turning sideways, but I’m not. I’m actually just an ivy-league graduate who takes his health extremely seriously, and works hard to maintain it. I’m closing in on 50 and in the best shape of my entire life! As a personal trainer, I often need to work around my clients schedules so there really is no “normal” day for me. However, seeing as many of my clients are working professionals, prime-time for me is either between 5am-8am, or from 5:30pm-8:30pm. Here’s how a “typical day” goes for me, modeled off of yesterday’s work day:

A 4am wake-up call is a pretty standard morning for me, and yesterday was no different. The first thing I do every morning is eat a power breakfast, usually an egg-white omelet with chopped lean steak or spinach (depending on if I am lifting weights or focusing on cardio that day), whole grain toast, and a small fruit smoothie with granola and peanut butter. After breakfast, I do some light stretching to not only loosen up my muscles, but to help with digestion. At around 4:45am I bust open a Phix stix to really get me focused and energized for my training session. I always have a Phix drink prepared for my clients (if they want it, of course) to drink before, as well as during their workout to maximize their energy and mental focus without ever sacrificing their health, which is most important. A typical training session usually lasts about an hour or so (depending on the person), then I rotate in the next client. Yesterday, I had a 1-hour appointment at 5am, and a 6:30am, 1.5 hour time slot filled. Of course I do not work out full force with every client, but rather guide, motivate, and ensure safety and proper form while providing an efficient regimen.

Wow time went fast, its 8:00am and my next client isn’t until 2—a 36 year old woman requesting training in yoga and core exercises.  Better not eat too much before that one! Food can wait, time to go give the kids a kiss goodbye before they head off to school. Now, assuming I have no appointments scheduled after the morning rush, (which I did not yesterday) I go for a long walk with my wife—usually about an hour. You’d be surprised how good walking is for you! Now that the juices are flowing, I do a light workout myself—I’m feeling back, biceps, and shoulders today. After my 2pm, I do a little house work, and start preparing lunch for the kids who will be home any minute. All white-meat dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets with ketchup; a fan favorite. After lunch, it’s time to head to the backyard to play some catch with the kids. The funny thing about my daily ritual is that my kids always find a way to tire me out more than anything else I did that day! It’s 5:15pm now and I have a 5:30pm appointment on the way which means time for Phix numero dos.

Ahhhh, I feel mentally and physically rejuvenated! I finished up my final two appointments and finally it was time to just relax. I kicked back on the couch with the family, ordered some sushi for everyone, and threw in a classic; toy story! That movie never gets old no matter how many times little Joey makes us all watch it. (Secretly, it’s my choice but I tell people my young son makes me watch it, shhh don’t tell!) Now it’s time for bed, and although yesterday was pretty much the same as every other day, man, it was such a great day--can’t wait to do it again tomorrow!

Carpe Diem,
Gary

Vegan Life

Name: Scarlet
Age: 26
Occupation: MBA Student
Status: In a relationship

4 years ago, like most people, I was a regular happy carnivore. Having grown accustomed to having meat on my menu for every meal of the day, there was a time when I could not even think about completely cutting out all of the familiar delicacies; bacon, chicken, steak, and ribs that I had been living with for 22 years. Then, one day I came across a New York Times bestselling book called Skinny Bitch by Rory and Kim, which talks about the healthy lifestyle of vegans. Furthermore, it opened my eyes to the cruel stories behind each piece of meat and the process the animals go through from being raised, to being sent   to a slaughterhouse, and it totally turned my life upside down.. I know many change their lifestyles for health reasons, which of course is always a plus, but all it took were some inconvenient truths to turn me into a real vegan.

Everybody in my family rolled their eyes when they first heard about my decision, and they even agreed to bet on how long I was going to last before I gave up. My mother--my best friend and biggest advocate, who always supported me in everything I did, put down the boldest wager--2 years. On the other hand, my brother, who needless to say still exhibited a severe case of ‘sibling rivalry’, only bet 3 days.  However, despite any doubt or adversity I may have faced, I had the last laugh, as I proved everyone’s wagers wrong. For 4 years now, I haven’t eaten any animal products, and I kept my hands off of my old vice with ease, believe it or not.  The best part about my new vegan life-style, is that I love it! I don’t have a daily stare down with a piece of meat contemplating my morals; I don’t miss meat for a second! Barring any extenuating, and extreme circumstances, no divorce will be necessary for my new marriage to plant-based foods.

Before I go further, I’d like to show you some statistics I found at PlanetSave.com (An excellent website for your green life):

If everyone went vegetarian just for one day, the U.S. would save:

  • 100 billion gallons of water, enough to supply all the homes in New England for almost 4 months
  • 1.5 billion pounds of crops otherwise fed to livestock, enough to feed the state of New Mexico for more than a year
  • 70 million gallons of gas — enough to fuel all the cars of Canada and Mexico combined with plenty to spare
  • 3 million acres of land, an area more than twice the size of Delaware
  • 33 tons of antibiotics

I’m not trying to push any of you into giving up meat immediately, nor am I trying to convert you into a pure herbivore. I just want everyone to see that such a small action, such as going vegetarian for just one day, can lead to such massive results. I know it’s hard; it’s not a decision that most people just make overnight and stick to the rest of their lives. But what about trying to be a vegan just for one single day first? Think about the humongous amount of resources that are consumed just for the processing of meat.  Think about our earth, and our grandchildren. Don’t you want to do something to help even a little bit?

Don’t worry, being a vegan doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the taste of your food anymore. There are now delicious vegan versions of almost every meat, dairy, and egg product with all the same flavors you’re used to. The only difference is that they are processed without causing any animal suffering or environmental degradation. We have soymilk, dairy-free ice cream, meatless burgers, chicken-free nuggets, vegan eggs and yogurt. For those newbies, you can just start from those vegan-adapted choices. That’s what I did at the beginning.

As a matter of fact, cooking vegan food is even more fun than cooking processed meats. Since you have fewer raw materials to choose from, it will require more creativity to cook up your ideal meal. My family and friends always find me caught up in creating new recipes, such as eggless egg salad (avocado), meatless meatball (tofu), or chicken-free chicken soup (chef’s secret!). It is challenging but also enjoyable and extremely rewarding when you feel like you have successfully “copycatted” a meat-lovers favorite meal with a recipe different in every way except the taste. If you could have your favorite meal without causing any detriments to your health, animals, or the earth, wouldn’t you?

Another pleasant surprise I came across as a vegan is Phix. Last year, I was so glad I found Phix, an energy drink that satisfies the requirements of vegans in every way possible. I was always looking for an energy boost that I could use for my workout, but those chemical-packed and health-threatening energy drinks in the grocery store constantly scared me away. Different from those regular energy drinks, Phix is all-natural and low-calorie; I use it not only for a lift but also for its multi-vitamin supplement, so I highly recommend it to my fellow vegans.

Vegan life is easier to achieve than most of you might think, and there’s also a lot of fun in exploring new revolutionary things that fit into my green lifestyle. If you are already my peer, let’s share our stories and ideas; if not, I welcome you to my healthy and happy vegan world.

In good health,
Scarlet

No Rest for the Weary

Name: Aaron McKinley
Status: Engaged, no kids
Job: Recent MBA graduate, first year junior investment banker.

I don’t even know where to begin. While I was receiving my MBA, I had a pretty set schedule, involving plenty of healthy foods, predictable class schedules, and free time between classes and studying to work out. While attending school, I dabbled in stock-broking, and interned at a private equity fund company for a while, and yet always had time to do what I wanted to do. I was untouchable—so I thought. All of that changed the second I signed my life away—I mean got hired by the firm. Don’t get me wrong, this is no sob story. The salary that I receive for my hard work and the legacy I plan on leaving for my children allow me to sleep easy at night—when I do sleep, that is. I work almost 100 hour work weeks, 7 days a week. To really put the cherry on top, the hours are so unpredictable it is impossible to set a schedule! Client pitches, or new hedge accounts can make my work day go until 4 in the morning, or straight into the next day of work. I would walk you through a typical day in my life, but there is no such thing as a typical day.

Basically living in my office has posed some major problems not only on my lifestyle, but on my health. I have tried many different ways to stay awake throughout the night. I have tried the ‘mental toughness’ approach to just will myself to stay awake. Needless to say, after waking up with drool on my keyboard and an angry boss standing over me, I have not tried that heroic approach again. Coffee just doesn’t cut it. It gives me a 30 minute caffeine rush, and then I feel sluggish after. I guess if I drink about 100-150 cups a day, that could work…I moved up the caffeine echelon and tried downing popular energy drinks I’ve heard so much about, which actually was the worst choice of all. Besides the awful crash that followed each drink, the energy it created was so artificial I just became jittery and almost violently awake to the point where I was getting less done. As I’ve alluded to a multitude of times, sleep is a rare occurrence for me. I try to squeeze in “power naps” any time I have an hour or two free. When I consume energy drinks, my brain tells me how tired I am, but my body refuses to go to sleep; those drinks don’t let me fall asleep!

I almost gave up and figured that either my body would eventually adjust to not sleeping, or I would get so sick where I couldn’t work anymore. I almost quit. I almost flushed my dream job, my career, and my life goal right down the toilet. Then I found Phix. It was the PERFECT mix of natural energy; enough where I was awake and focused, but not so much where I became jittery and couldn’t sleep. Due to my lack of sleep, my body became more susceptible to illness with a weakened immune system. All of the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in Phix also kept me healthy. We get 1 hour per day allotted to us for exercise/stretching (personally, I think it’s to avoid any liability for developing physical problems sitting still for so long)! Anyway, I am usually too tired to do anything, or too jittery to get a good workout in. Ever since I switched to Phix, I have been getting one great hour of yoga, weight lifting, and even some light cardio in every day. It not only makes me feel better about myself, and of course improves my health, but it relieves some of the stress of my busy day. I can’t help but think that Phix was custom-made just for me. It is hard for people like me to live a “normal” healthy life, but I am doing the best I can. Every little bit helps. Alright, well I used my only free 30 minutes of my week to write this, so it’s time to get back to work!

More Exercises = Less Healthy???

The more you exercise, the less healthy you are. Wait, who edited this? That had to be a mistake, right? Of course exercise is necessary as part of a balanced, healthy lifestyle, but exercise without proper precaution can prove to be very harmful!

As we all know, working out helps us burn calories, accelerate metabolism and stay fit. That’s why we get up at the crack of dawn for our early morning exercise, rush to the gym after sunset for a late-night workout, and stick to our daily active routines even when motivation is hard to come by. We know that health is the greatest wealth, and through exercise, we can add to our proverbial riches. However, what if I told you that working out could also lead to cancer, speed up aging or make you more vulnerable to arthritis, Parkinson's and heart disease? As much as that may contradict everything you’ve been told in Phys. Ed. class, exercise alone could actually be detrimental to your health. But don’t freak out—there’s actually a very simple solution to once again make exercise beneficial. In fact, most of us already knowingly, or unknowingly ingest our little secret weapon: antioxidants.

Think back to how you felt after your last strenuous workout. Sore?  Weak?  Couldn’t recover for a couple days? These are common symptoms for most of us who work out. During exercise our body uses oxygen to break down carbohydrates, fats and proteins to produce energy. Oxygen consumption leads to a large increase in the production of oxidants and results in damages that contribute to muscular fatigue during and after exercise. Each intake of oxygen naturally produces some by-products in the body called ‘free radicals’ which are what causes those inflammatory responses. Free radicals are the very culprits that are responsible for turning our workouts against our health!

Now that we’ve figured out the problem, how do we get rid of those pesky free radicals and fully reap the health benefits of exercising?  You guessed it; antioxidants! Antioxidants are substances or nutrients that help to prevent, or slow the oxidative damage to our bodies caused by  "free radical scavengers". Antioxidants reduce the free radicals generated by an intense workout, relieve soreness and pain, and put your body in a balanced state after exercise. Health problems such as heart disease, macular degeneration, diabetes, and cancer are all attributed to oxidative damage caused by free radicals. That being said, adequate intake of antioxidants can also enhance your immune system and lower the risk of various diseases and infections.

The most common antioxidants are Vitamin A & Carotenoid--which can be found in carrots, squash, peaches, collards or any bright-pigmented fruits and vegetables, --Vitamin C from citrus, strawberry, tomato, or any green-leafy vegetables, as well as Vitamin E from nuts, seed and whole grains.  Placebo-controlled research has shown that taking 400 to 3,000 mg of vitamin C per day for several days before and after intense exercise may reduce pain and speed up muscle strength recovery.(1)   Some research has reported that vitamin E supplementation in the amount of 800 to 1,200 IU per day reduces biochemical measures of free-radical activity and muscle damage caused by strenuous exercise.(2)

Below we have constructed a small pre, and post-workout snack list to keep you feeling healthy and energized:

Pre-workout

  • A piece of whole grain toast with almond butter
  • A glass of iced Phix energy drink, citrus/teaberry/tropic taste

Post-workout

  • Whole grain crackers topped with a small serving of blackberry jam with a side of fresh blueberries or sliced strawberries
  • A glass of unsweetened lemonade
  • A fresh-picked Florida Navel Orange

Bon Appetite,
Your Phix Friends

I am Superdad

Name: Paul Saddler
Age: 38
Occupation: Financial Asset Manager
Status: Married with 3 kids—all boys….yikes!
Secret weapon: Phix Energy

I’m just a normal guy. I work all week, constantly daydreaming about those relaxing Saturdays, and that lazy Sunday morning that I need so badly. Yeah, right. When I’m not working, I’m busy training for half marathons, dominating the Long Island flag football league, and most importantly spending time with my family. How do I have time to do it all, you might ask? I am Superman—better yet, I am Superdad. Just kidding, but I do have some performance enhancing drinks to boost my health focus, and energy (and no, not the Barry Bonds kind, either). I’ll run you through my daily routine; try to keep up.

Its 5a.m. sharp, I wake up, grab one of my Phix stix and a water bottle, and hit the old dusty trail for a 5 mile run. I get back at around 5:45 and get right in a hot shower, to loosen up my muscles—not to mention the obvious hygiene reasons. I eat a power breakfast with a good blend of protein and carbs, usually including whole grain oatmeal, egg whites, multigrain toast with organic peanut butter, and a protein shake. Then comes the toughest part of the day—waking up the little dudes. Six tries and ten minutes of pleading later, they’re up and wreaking havoc. I give the Mrs. a kiss goodbye as I leave to drop the kids off at school by 7:30, and then I’m on my way to work.

The length of a normal work day for me is dictated by how efficiently I work. I set a daily agenda, and don’t leave until I accomplish everything on that list, so barring client meetings or unforeseen events, I can be out of the office anywhere between 3p.m.-7p.m. (I have left earlier and stayed longer in the past). I aim to leave work at around 5:00-5:30ish. Ok, back on track--12p.m., I start thinking of my nightly workout, and what I want to do with the family, and how I’m going to weasel my way out of watching Glee with my wife… Anyway, I need to focus! Here comes Phix #2…and game time! I’m in the zone, and work straight through to lunch with the pace of a sprinter.

Alright so its 2p.m. time for lunch. Tuna mixed with cracked black pepper and craisins with a little bit of mustard instead of mayo, wheat crackers, and a cup of low-sodium chicken noodle soup to fuel the soul. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! Sorry, I digress. After lunch I get back to the grind of things and finish the day strong—mentally focused, and physically stuffed. I made great time thanks to my focus and energy boost, and leave the office by 4:30 to go home.

By 5:00, I’m already halfway done with my 30 minutes of yoga, core, and plyometric workout. Time for another 5 mile run. I’m not going to lie to you, after a full day of activities and working, it’s hard to motivate myself to get back out there. If only I had some motivation…Phix #3, here we go! And I’ve got my second wind. 6:00 p.m., stretch, shower, head downstairs for a nice family dinner. Whole grain pasta with sun dried tomato, garlic, and olive oil. Delicious!

Now comes the best part of the day—well-deserved, hard earned, family time. We head into the living room to talk, watch movies, play board games, and just spend time together. Man, I have to say, my biggest motivation to work hard and efficiently is to get home to my wife and kids. After a few hours of fun, it’s time to recharge the batteries and hit the sack. I can honestly say, I sleep like a baby every single night. I don’t drink energy drinks that keep me up all night, or put unhealthy foods, or chemicals in my body. By setting daily goals, and working hard to get home quickly, I’m able to accomplish everything I want to in one day in the most efficient manner possible. Time management, efficiency, and staying energized and focused allow me to succeed in every aspect of life. Come to think of it, maybe I am Superdad after all.

Phixtionary Part Duex

Phixtraordinary
A word never to be thrown around loosely; the hall of fame of feelings.  This rare experience can only be brought about by true love, or a Phix stix—dealer’s choice.

“This morning after downing a delicious Phix stix, I felt phixtraordinary, and decided to go for a 20 mile run—backwards.”

Phix Pheeling
That euphoric combination of both supreme mental focus along with invigorating physical energy that a single, seemingly-magical rejuvenating Phix stix invokes within one.

“I got my Phix Pheeling about 5 minutes after drinking my Phix, and have never been more mentally, and physically rejuvenated.”

Phixchange Rate
To a true lover of Phix, it is worth its weight in gold. There have been wives-tales, and hyperbolic stories of people who have traded their most prized possession for a single Phix stix!

“What’s the Phixchange Rate of Phix stix to Ferrari’s? Is it still 1:1?

Phixperts
Phix experts. Check out our ingredients list, along with their beneficial functions on our website www.Phix.com.

“After finding out all of the amazing health-improving and energy sustaining ingredients in a Phix stix I can definitely say I understand why everyone loves it so much. I am now a Phixpert!”

Phixceeding expectations
Doing everything the Phix way; above and beyond. We are perfectionists, and won’t settle for having even the second best drink on the market, so why should you?

“I was so tired, I didn’t think I could even run a mile. Then, I drank a Phix stix and completely phixceeded my expectations by running 5 miles and still having enough energy for yoga after!”
